Now
  • Looking ahead to 2024, we are proud to announce that we will be hosting the ADOS-2 workshop, featuring renowned international scholars. This event is designed to provide intensive training to clinical professionals, such as psychologists, therapists, and medical specialists, in the assessment of individuals with autism spectrum disorders. The workshop aims to equip participants with the latest knowledge and skills, ensuring the delivery of the highest standard of care and support to those on the autism spectrum.
2022
  • In 2022, Edge Development Centre initiated the Mind and Study Matter: Tutoring and Counselling Programme (MASM) in partnership with JC Levelmind - Caritas (Kwai Tsing). Together, we developed the innovative Loneliness Museum programme with university students to bolster mental health awareness and engagement among youths, showcasing the program in public exhibitions and various schools.

  • As a member of the Mental Health Research Centre at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University since 2022, our Centre collaborates on impactful research, promotes mental well-being, and delivers sustainable mental health solutions.

  • Our organisation is committed to the professional development of educators, particularly in the realms of career planning and counselling. In collaboration with The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), we successfully conducted a 21-hour Certificate Course on Life Planning Education for Primary Schools in the 2021-2022 and 2023-2024 academic years. This initiative has positively impacted approximately hundreds teachers and school administrators, fostering their skills in guiding young minds towards their future careers.

  • As part of our commitment to knowledge dissemination, we target both community members and professionals with regular seminars, workshops, and publications. A prime example of our efforts is the release of our specialised publication, the "Selective Mutism Educational Handbook for Teachers and Parents" (《 伴 孩 子 走 出 選 默 之 困 》), which serves as an essential tool for those aiding children with selective mutism. This handbook and further details can be accessed through our website at https://edgedc.org/publications/

2021
  • In 2021, we joined forces with Impact Incubator, enhancing our project implementation. This collaboration, alongside funding from the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund (SIE Fund), enabled us to launch the SEN Tutoring and Training Project (Subsidised Scheme), targeting low-income families. In 2023, we scaled up this project, thanks to additional funding from the Shih Wing Ching Foundation and a renewed grant from the SIE Fund.

2020
  • In 2020, EDGE, in partnership with EdUHK, emerged victorious in the Mind Matters – A Hackathon for Social Impact Campaign. This event, co-designed by Asian Charity Service and HSBC Private Banking, aimed to enhance mental well-being services in Hong Kong.

  • In 2020, EDGE, with the support of EdUHK, secured funding from the Advance Children Medical and Education Foundation. This funding facilitated the launch of Hong Kong's first territory-wide after-school academic support project in primary schools for students with SEN, overseen by Educational Psychologists.

2019
  • In 2019, EDGE earned the distinction of being awarded the EASE (Education and Social Entrepreneur) Fund by The Education University of Hong Kong for its inaugural innovative project.
