SENT the edge

"Tutoring and Training" Programme for SEN students is a one-on-one tutoring and training service designed specifically for students with Special Educational Needs (SpLD, ADHD, ASD, etc.) and students who are having academic difficulties.

The project also offers school-based tutoring and homework assistance. Tutors will visit the school to provide group tutoring or homework assistance to students with special educational needs. To ensure the quality of training, all tutors are professionally trained* and will be supervised by Educational Psychologists during their service period.

*Training for tutors is provided by our multi-professional team. Teach For Hong Kong and other institutions have also adopted our SEN training courses to provide SEN Tutor certificate courses.

The project mainly has two stages:

1.    The First Phase: Setting up an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) Phase

  • Educational Psychologist will provide an initial assessment to get to know the student
  • Individual learning profile will be designed according to student's needs
  • 9 hours of 'tutorial and training' (supervised by Educational Psychologists)
  • Monthly e-mail progress report by SEN tutors
  • At this stage, parents can request to change their tutor once.

2.    The Second Phase: "Tutorial and Training" Phase

  • 10 hours of 'tutorial and training' (supervised by educational psychologists)
  • Monthly e-mail progress report by SEN tutors

Additional services (Optional)

  • Progress assessment by Educational Psychologist every 6 or 12 months to tailor-made learning plan
  • Various assessments and treatments

After 10 hours of "Tutoring and Training", more tutoring hours are available upon request

Students with special educational needs can also shine on the path of growth
as long as they receive appropriate support.

Note:

  • The assessment conducted by psychologist will be conducted at our Prince Edward centre.
  • Low-income family subsidised scheme is available now
  • There is a high demand for the services, applicants might be placed on a waitlist
